The department was established in 2015 with an outpatient department, endoscopy and colonoscopy units. The department had rapid growth in the successive years with the establishment of therapeutic endoscopy unit, ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound unit. Currently, the department has 5 dynamic consultants, one senior resident, one junior resident, and six endoscopy technicians.
