R & D Center serves as the window of the institute ensuring greater visibility through competitive activities. It is an integrated quality management system (QMS) aiming at excellence. R&D efforts include scientific and technical quality of research projects, compilation of data and research back-up to act on programmes. The primary aim is to sensitise the investigators for high impact publications with ample citation for targeting sponsored projects. The center so far facilitated and applied for 10 research projects to the tune of more than 3 crores. The center has conducted research training programmes , project reviews, symposiums on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Medical incubators, facilitation for device testing and facilitation of industry\/academic interaction and inter institutional collaboration. The center has collaborated with Apollo Hospital, Chennai, Madurai Kamaraj University and iGOLD testing systems for research projects and provided scientific input to above 60 scientific projects.<\/p>\n
