In our hospital, daily patients are coming in dangerous condition by snake bites, other poisonous animals. And the number of people who take rat medicine is also increasing. We have treated over 1200 different toxins so far. We are now proud to launch an exclusive Toxic Breakdown Center at our hospital. Our Poison Breakdown Center is allocated 10 beds with multi-para cardiac monitors, ventilators, snake bite drugs and all the equipment needed to tackle an emergency crisis.
Also, we have started a special vaccination center for adults and children. The highlight is that exclusive cold equipment boxes are fitted to keep vaccines safe with quality. And there are specially trained nurses and doctors for vaccinations. Pediatricians and public health doctors will be advised to clarify details and doubts about the vaccine. Special vaccines will be given for those who go abroad and this is a government certified corona vaccine center. Exclusive vaccines for every age are also available here.
Madurai District Collector Thiru will take these two centers on August 03th at 8.30 am. Inaugurated by Aneesh Sekar. President of Velammal Hospital Mr. M. V. Muthuramalingam and the administrative team were also with us during this inauguration.

World Breastfeeding Week, a seminar explaining the importance of breastfeeding to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and an exhibition on healthy food was held today at Velammal Hospital Auditorium.
This awareness programme was inaugurated by District Child Development Project Officer (ICDS) Mrs. Helen Rose, Jointly conducted by Velammal Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai Voice Trust and Madurai District Integrated Child Development Project Center.
As newborn baby depends only on breastfeeding, it is important for breastfeeding mothers to pay more attention to their foods and drinks. When breastfeeding, the body releases antioxidant hormones. It not only maintains the health of children but also strengthens the bond between mother and child. However, all this is possible only if the mother eats the right food while breastfeeding. Nutrition Food Exhibition was also held to explain this.
Velammal Hospital Nutritionist Dr. Mahalakshmi, Women’s Welfare Specialist Chitra, explained the benefits of Thai milk to mothers who attended the seminar.
More than 200 breastfeeding mothers participated in this. And Velammal Hospital President Mr. M. V. Velammal Hospital, the largest hospital in South Tamil Nadu, has organized a free medical camp for all the public. Free High Specialty Medical Camp with various types of medical specialty services to the general public residing in Madurai, Thiruppuvanam and all the surrounding rural areas will be held today 2021th July 24 and tomorrow 25th.
This medical camp offers free direct checkup, consultation and medication by specialized specialists in the fields of general health, heart, brain nerve, kidney, sugar, stomach and intestine.
On day one, our specialist medical experts consulted over 320 families from 9 am to 3 pm. Social gap and all government protocols followed in this camp.
