The department of OBG in VMCH is the second largest OBG department in Madurai, which started its journey in 2012 with 150 exclusive beds and 15 HDU with central ICU.

With compassionate care given to the antenatal women, the department has brought 6000 lives into this world. We also give excellent post natal care by teaching postnatal exercises, Yoga, Breathing exercises which heal the body and mind.

Round the clock service of obstetrics, Pediatrics, Blood bank and ICU care, made us possible to take all kinds of high risk obstetric cases at any time.

The department has special clinics which are overseen by faculties individually which includes high risk pregnancy clinics, infertility clinics, family welfare clinic, cancer detection clinic, Adolescent gynecology clinic and menopause clinic.

Exclusively trained team of doctors provide treatment to all gynecological problems and perform, open and laparoscopic gynecological surgeries.

We are also excelling in academics and imparting knowledge to undergraduate & postgraduate’s students.
